The Walking Stick
That is more than a stick
to me. It has a history.
It is the symbol
of my past
pain and sorrow.
Yes, I
carved, and I
made it what it is
today, but that doesn't
mean it doesn't do the same
to me.
I live with the memories
that it brings, the hole period
of my life whose objects are trapped
in the stillness of the place
where time no longer is.
I do not pick up the projects.
It is as if the time of that memory
were coated with a thick
radioactive tar.
Anything that touched
it, became contaminated, unworthy
to be touched,
including me.
